JIPMER Stands for Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) 2019 is a national level examination which is held for 200 MBBS seats available at JIPMER, Puducherry (150 seats) and JIPMER, Karaikal (50 seats). JIPMER, an Institute of National Importance, conducts the entrance examination for the MBBS course annually in online mode i.e. as a computer-based test. The entrance examination of JIPMER MBBS 2019 will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. JIPMER, Puducherry will hold the entrance examination on June 2 for the academic year 2019-20. After qualifying the exam, a counselling process is held post which candidates can take admission to the course.
The application form of JIPMER 2019 has been released on March 6. The prospectus has also been released mentioning the details of other JIPMER MBBS events such as dates, examination pattern, admit card, syllabus, result, counselling among others. JIPMER MBBS 2019 is one of the three medical exams conducted for admission to MBBS course, the other two being AIIMS MBBS and NEET UG. It is expected that as many as 2 lakh aspirants will take JIPMER MBBS 2019. The entrance examination of JIPMER MBBS 2019 will be conducted in 120 cities.
JIPMER MBBS eligibility criteria 2019 refer to the basic requirements that a candidate must fulfil in order to be deemed eligible for the examination. The prerequisites to appear in JIPMER MBBS 2019 entrance examination can be seen below:-
1. Candidates taking the JIPMER MBBS examination must be Indian nationals/Overseas Citizens of India/National Residents of India.
2. Candidates must attain the age of 17 years on or before December 31 in the academic year they are taking the examination.
3. In order to fulfil JIPMER MBBS 2019 eligibility criteria, candidates must have studied Biology/Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry with practical tests in these tests in Class 12 from a recognised board. Apart from these subjects, English should be studied as a core subject in Class 12. NRI and OCI candidates must show a certificate approved from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi stating that the qualifying examination is equivalent to Class 12 examinaton.
4. Candidates must have passed in all the above mentioned subjects individually and should also score at least a 60% score in Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry and Physics combined. Candidates belonging to reserved categories or PwD categories must score a minimum of 50%.

There are two colleges under the JIPMER brand. JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal. Puducherry campus offers 150 MBBS seats while Karaikal campus offers 50 MBBS seats.
JIPMER 2019 will be an Online - Computer Based Test (CBT) Examination.
JIPMER will be a single stage examination.
JIPMER Puducherry is unlikely to disclose the detailed syllabus of JIPMER 2019 but will release mock tests for the candidates prior to the commencement of the examInation. The mock tests will provide the candidates with an idea of the structure and pattern of JIPMER syllabus 2019. Candidates can primarily refer to NCERT books in order to prepare for JIPMER 2019.
JIPMER MBBS question paper will contain 200 questions which will be divided into five sections - Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Logical and Quantitative Reasoning and English Language and Comprehension. As per the JIPMER examination pattern 2019, candidates will be awarded four marks for each correct response while one mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. The authorities will not deduct marks for questions left unattempted.The question paper of JIPMER 2019 will contain multiple choice based questions
JIPMER will be of Two hours and Thirty minutes and will be conducted in 2 shifts.
Morning : 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Afternoon : 03:00 PM to 05:30 PM

Candidates applying for JIPMER MBBS must be at least 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2019. As per the JIPMER eligibility criteria 2019, there is no upper age limit for the entrance examination. It must be noted that there will be no relaxation in lower age limit given to any candidate under any circumstances, irrespective of his/her category.
It is necessary to take Biology as main subject to appear in JIPMER
There is no attempt limit to this entrance exam conducted by JIPMER. However, Eligibility for admission for MBBS/BDS courses will be subject to JIPMER
